On April 14 1912 the TITANIC hit an iceberg and sank two hours and forty minutes later, April 15 1912. The sinking resulted in the deaths of 1,496 people, making it one of the most deadly maritime disasters in history. The TITANIC disaster will be a century old on April 15 2012, this website was named to mark that moment in history.
